Blessed Flight

Blessed Flight

I created this cute tag for Inspiration Journal ( Inspiration Emporium's Blog)  August Challenge.
This month the theme is " Go Fly A Kite ".  I was just so inspired by all the awesome kite projects, I had to give it a "go" ! Besides, who couldn't  enjoy a chance to win $50 Emporium bucks ... my wish list is getting  so long. They carry Tim goodies too !
Using a technique I just learned, white wash stamping  and my fairy garden stamp, along with my summer distressing set, I created the background. Then I had to experiment with my new dylusions stencil, and that cool dylusions  fresh lime ink spray ( I was distracted so I messed up a bit), no problem... I used my mowed lawn distressing ink and the stencil again over the first attempt ... it created a cool shadow.

I cut my kite freehand , I cut three before I got it right... don't laugh! I covered it with tissue tape and lightly colorized it with salty ocean, picked raspberry and squeezed lemonade distressing ink. Then I stamped a cloud and sun scene with my itty bitty stamps ( dollar bin find at Michael's). I used a white string from my stash for the kite string and strips of a dryer sheet for the tails,, I lightly colorized them with distressing ink. I die cut a mini butterfly that I distressed and stamped with a music note stamp and popped it up. I  added the words blessed, flight from chitchat, distressing the edges with
peacock feathers distressing ink. Final touch I colorized the ribbon with the summer distressing set...
all done!

  1. This tag is just lovely!! Too funny about the kite...I'd probably need even more tries (All my kites where shaped like...hmm, not sure-insects, manta rays- but they had to be cooler than my brothers!)
