2011 Reflections

As 2011 is winding down I'm thinking about All the accomplishments ( large and small) that I made, rather than focus on what I did not get done. Yey ... I tackled my blog, the fear and intimidation is gone ( for the most part); replaced by frustration... but I learned  so many little things . I have 215 post Wow !
I learned how to use my cell phone to send pictures to my blog ... I  promise to learn how to do the "album" thing next  so the post wont be so long. I'm excited about my progress,  thanks to  Shabbly Blogs for tutorials .
I got out of my comfort zone  I visited several blogs, participated in blog hops, it's been an interesting journey... I entered a couple of contest , met some new people  even won some contests !!


The choir, Total Praise   has been on an amazing journey also, we've done some recordings in preparation for the release of a CD and preparation for an impending movie project (Hole In The Head:ALife Revealed  www.facebook.com/holeinthehead ), and we've participated in many Ministry Outreaches with Restored Life Fellowship. Through our participation we've met many new people and
have been involved in Ministry.

In my persoanl life, I celebratred my second year as an ordained minister. I also joined the Threshing Flooer Prayer Partners  and did online classes with Dr. Juanita Bynum. What an amazing time of fellowship and spiritual growth !

I celebrated the Homegoing of some special friends and continued to adjsut to life without the " other man " ( Uncle Bob), what an adjustment, I really felt it this year as the anniversary of my dad's passing came around ... the small things that he (uncle Bob) and I did to survive those yearly reminders seemed not so small... when I had to do them ALONE ! By the grace of God I survived!

So now... with the accomplishments out of the way ... I guess I DO  have some regrets for 2011 ... I did not get the Queendom set up ! So first New Year's  Resolution : Set up the Queendom , Queendom Party  coming soon !!

I did not get to do 12 Tags of Christmas ( as I had planned... not having power, having to do clean up from winds etc. hindered my plans ),  the highlight of my year ...  BUT 2011 isn't done yet  so... in the next THREE DAYS  I'm going to do my tags  ... Woo Hoo !!!

To add highlight I put glitter around the oval and added ribbon at the girls neck with a small pearl. Well just in time gotta go get dressed now... You guessed it... I'm wearing red and black !

So I used black as my card base, cropped the silouette with a red cardstock with specks of black in it (recollections paper)...so cool . I lightly distressed the edges with black distressing ink ...nice touch added red bling (gotta have my signature)... And I found this awesome red with a hint of black ribbon ...love it when a plan comes together !

Color scheme for party is red and black. Teresa had this adorable pink/black/gray...humm...I want black and red...

Baby Shower Gift Bags
I had three baby showers in two weeks time. I had the gifts and all the gift bags... So I thought ! Oh no ... No bag or wrap for a boy... DCWV Stack to the rescue ... I used a brown bag and a 12X12 sheet of paper to decorate the bag. I used brown cardstock to create a lace edge.

Couldn't help but wonder what this looked like right side up ...

First...a correction (there is a man talking while I'm doing this !!)
remember ... OK! I felt like an artist when I completed this last one...the colors were great , my stampimg came out the way I wanted...the initial stamp was gathered twigs, I "shadowed" it by stamping it two more times using
crushed olive and scattered straw...like the effect !

After stamping the leaves I wanted to give them more definition so I used a paint brush dabbed on the stain dabber...such a cool trick...I read it on a blog...can't remer whose...sorry ! The color was spiced marmalade... Yummy !

Tim says learn to embrace your imperfections. I attemped to highlight the leaves (middle atc)
with the stickles and did not like it so I restamped them when the stickles dried...I like the texture it gave me ...I got so excited about it...I forgot to invert it before i stamped the title ...now it's upside down. Oh I almost forgot...I tried a new technique I painted with the distress stain on the first ATC.

Hi Everybody ! Happy Halloween!
Sorry due to technical difficulties I was unable to post my Halloween goodies at this time...bummer :(
I was so excited about them I even took my things on a weekend trip with me so I could post... took my laptop and everything... there were technical difficulties there also. I did meet a very charming computer tech ... WOW he was AWESOME; personality, patience, easy on the eyes !!! ANYWAY ... hope to have something worked out today ... Be Safe

Seriously, I'm amazed at Webster's Pages collection of papers and embellishments. When I see their post of layouts, it makes me want to just stop all work and go dig out my scrappin' stuff... it is so inspiring. If you ever get stuck or need some new creative ideas check out their design team's work,

Hello my friends! I guess you thought I forgot about my blog..No I did not!
I just can't keep up with "life" lately. I've been doing a class everynight, my choir has been recording, I've been making cards for OWH AND I just finished making some cool Tim Holtz Halloween stuff!
Anyway... I went kind of crazy on some Tim Halloween goodies ... Sooooooooo, I put myself on punishment ( yes, again) and THEN I look on FB and Brandin of Webster's Pages post ALL these cool goodies that I've been looking at BUT said I would not buy yet ( I wanna stay on punishment for at least a week !! ). How MEAN is that... I'll forgive her she doesn't know about my punishment. I so love those gem strips ... I feel you Shauna! And Tim ... those paper in that 6X6 pad are so colorful and cool, I think I need those. But wait, Jaime likes the feather flower picks... I ain't mad at you !! Okay I can't stand this bloomers too ... OMG  you're killing me Webster's Pages !!! Will she stay on punishment or will Webster's Pages tempt her ?? Pisst ...Hey Brandin ... if you guys make me a winner ... I can stay on punishment !!!

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

Do to photographer and computer tech errors ( give me a break... I'm gettin' the hang of this) the photos do not do the project justice. If you are in or near Burbank go check it out. Misc. details

Other embellishments used Tim Holtz ( of course), word sticks, fragments, hitch fastener, baubles and tiny attacher. Silver words, mini hearts (pink bling) trinket pin, pink feathers, chain, and pink ribbon from Michael's and Queendom stash.

There are two facets on this bra , the one on the front was made using alchol ink to colorize it and then I stamped with an image from the vintage ladies stamps, I embellished it by adding a small pearl and red crystal beads,, and its backed by light pink feathers.

The facet on the chain in the back is stamp with a "portion" of the same stamp as the front and embellished with a pearl.

Facet Details

Back view ... I embellished the back by adding the flowers, I added a chain ( with baubles, word stick, and embellished facet), at the bottom are silver words embellished with pink hearts (my signature bling! ). Not seen in this photo are also a grunge paper butterfly and grunge paper heart added to the shoulder straps ; that have been distressed and stamped.

Around the bottom on the front are the words faith, hope, love, and on the back family and friends.
