It is now 6 hours and 40 minutes before deadline and I have NOTHING... be back later to finish this post ... She's back here we go ...
I forgot to take a photo of my tag once I completed the technique; so these are close ups so you can see it.
Okay so you know I was struggling with coming up with a project ... I finally chose to do a tag.
My tag reflects my thoughts about my CC3 Journey and this final Challenge 34 specifically.
My weapons of choice for this challenge were the blossom layering stencil, small talk, photobooth, frames and trims industrial stickers, label letters, flashcards, hashtags stamp set, tiny tattered floral thinlits, wall flower paper stash, hickory smoke, and fossilized amber distressing inks and crinkle ribbon.
I have so enjoyed the CC3 Challenges; this final one was really a challenge... I always try to stay focused on my projects even when all around me is going crazy. This week and these past few days
my life has been turned upside down. I think I shared earlier during the challenges that my brother; who is also my neighbor was stage 4 cancer; so we ( family) have been taking care of him; this week he took some turns; so my time was spent in frequent trips back and forth to the house; and multiple phone contacts etc.; yesterday we ( sisters) had to take him to ER ,yesterday afternoon; he was finally admitted to hospital about 2 A.M. this morning; so I have been operating on 3-4 hours nightyly for over a week now. Not to mention it's been in the low 90's all week. I'm so determined I'd lay down and take a nap and get up at 2 A.M. to craft ( I had other projects going on as well) ... BUT the creativity fairy left me... I think I was finally relieved that my brother agreed to go to the hospital to be checked so that kind of freed up my mind. This is not an easy journey but our faith and family togetherness is carrying us... thank you for all your care and concerns. Have a Blessed night ... see you tomorrow :)
As usual, your piece is excellent, despite the stress and lavk of sleep.
ReplyDeleteYour brother is in my prayers, as are you and your entire family.
Thank you Carol for your kind words !
ReplyDeleteRea....I am so so sorry that you and your family are having to deal with such stress and sadness as your brother battles his stage four cancer. I lost my mother and father and other family members to cancer. It is such an insidious disease. Please know that my prayers are with you and your family. I pray for your brother and that he knows the Lord and when his time comes to be with Him, your family will find comfort in the fact that he is no longer suffering and that one day, you will all be reunited in HIS presence.
ReplyDeleteYour CC3C tag is lovely. You have not lost your creativity with all that you are going through right now. Your monoprint background is beautifully done. I love the vintage-ness of it's appearance. Love your design for your tag. So sweet and sentimental. And I think that perhaps you were speaking to yourself when you added the sentiment "Be you, bravely" to this tag. You are doing just that and it reflects in your art! Thank you so much for sharing yourself and your art with us at CC3C. I also want to thank you for all of the lovely comments you left for me on my blog. Your words of encouragement were always appreciated. God bless you and your family. <3 Candy
Bless your heart Candy ! Your words of encouragement so "ministered" to me ... yes my brother and my family KNOW the Lord... we are grateful for our relationship in Him and His Presence as we walk this Journey ... as you know there are sooo many stepping stones in this cancer walk. My brother was doing better, they are still running test, there was apparently an infection that was causing pain in his chest/lungs, and causing swallowing problem... it's also been very hot here (extreme heat warnings for our area ) he was dehydrated... so they are managing the pain and searching for source of problem. Thank you for the kind word.
DeleteAaah ...my CC3 ... amazing . And yes I was speaking to myself; can't begin to tell you the excitement about all I've explored and learned and the fun of "fellowship " with all you girls ... what a Blessing !
This is soooo pretty, Rea! What a great job for being "last minute" - sometimes that's when I get my best work done, too!
ReplyDeleteThank you Studio Rose ! I have to admit ... it surprised me how it came out !
DeleteI cannot believe you made the time to do this with all the turmoil going on with your brother. I am so sorry. Prayers for you and your family. Your tag is stunning as well. LOVE the background and lace. Hugs to you. Thanks so much for joining in on this last challenge and all the challenges before at CC3C!!!
ReplyDeleteWouldn't miss the opportunity to " hang " with you girls ! Thank YOU for all your words of encouragement along the way and the inspiration ... can't wait to check out what you girls have planned for your trip !
DeleteOh Rea, I am so very sorry that your brother isn't doing well. You are all so lucky to have each other for support and help. I am amazed and honored that you were able to create this gorgeous tag! You rocked the technique and the tag! It is so beautiful! I have to tell you that I have always looked forward to seeing your wonderful artwork every two weeks. I truly hope to see more from you in the future! In the meantime, blessings and prayers are coming your way for strength and hope. You are an amazing, brave and loving person!
ReplyDeleteThank you Susan; it's really been amazing and I've enjoyed it so much . I'm a Tim A-holic so I'll be creating and exploring for life :)
DeleteThanks you for prayers and all the compliments ( I'll have to live up to all of those) LOL :)
Oh Rea, you sweet dear. When I hear your struggle, I feel on one hand so sad for your family, but on the other hand so joyful that I made a personal face-to-face connection with you at CHA last year because when things like this happen, I feel a bond and understanding for you that I otherwise couldn't truly and honestly have in these times. The fact that you still managed to participate in this final challenge is an amazing accomplishment and even though you say your creativity left you, I don't agree. It's there in this lovely tag that you clearly made with great love. I'll be thinking of your brother and wishing you all the best. Thank you for always being so kind in your comments. I hope to see you again soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Annette ! You encouraged me so much in our short time spent at CHA; I'm grateful ( I still get excited when I think about how we met) ! I'll be keeping " tabs " on you girls :)
ReplyDeleteBless you, sweet Rea. I hope working on your art is a joyful, meditation time and not a burden. I'm writing your brother down on my prayer list right now, which will include you and all your family. There's nothing I can say to make this lighter for you, but know that you are loved and that your sweet heart and faith are a testimony to many. Your tag is so beautiful, I can see the love and tenderness in your heart. Bless you, sweet girl.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much Cheryl ! Yes... working on my projects does give me joy and keeps me sane LOL !!
DeleteThere have been many changes in the last couple of days in my brothers care ... we remain hopeful !
