Compendium of Curiosities 2 Challenge 23

Here we are  Thursday afternoon 6 hours and 36 minutes before the challenge closes !
Okay, so I really wasn't going to do this one. I had no markers yet... so I went out to look for some.
My plan was to find single ones and buy some harvest colors. Oh no, no singles, no harvest colors... okay I settled for  the Vintage set from Michael's... you know how I feel about "settling". Don't get me wrong these are cool colors, just not what I wanted for right now. Next problem ( since I had already decided what I was doing with the harvest colors) What do I do now? So I decided AGAIN, I would sit this one out... But guilt got the best of me. You see I was supposed to be at home nursing an injured foot, I called to get a ride and no one was available so... in 90 weather, I walked to the bus stop, caught the bus and walked another3-4 blocks to Michael's; they did not have markers ! I rode the bus back home. I WAS BUSTED !! My sister came by, anyway I talked her into taking me to Michael's in another city ( up on my foot for another 2-3 hours... did I mention I was supposed to be off of it ?), so I figured after being out, I HAD to do this challenge to justify my being out!
ANYWAY... I did not want to be left out!
Linda over at  http://studiol3.blogspot.com/ has been awesome in helping us get prepared for these challenges ( don't know why , but I just didn't think about markers). This weeks Challenge is from Tim Holtz's book  A Compendium of Curiosities Volume II p. 50  Distress Markers. You know the drill  ( turn to p. 50 for instructions) !
Once I got past the frustration of not having the colors I wanted, having to change my plans, and having to ice my foot, I had fun ! My Vintage Set of markers had  five markers; Spun Sugar, Antique Linen, Bundled Sage, Broken China and Picket Fence. For my background I used  Spun Sugar, Broken China, Mustard Seed, Bundled Sage and Vintage Photo distressing inks.  My other weapons of choice were my Fairy Garden, Little Labels and Mixed Media stamps from Stampers Anonymous  and  a bird stamp from Hampton Art (I uniquely combined the stamps to get this look). I embellished my tag using Diamond stickles, and a bird from the Classic Adornments (Ideaology), and a ribbon colorized with Broken China Distress Ink.  My marker "play" was very interesting! I think I may have to invest in the markers ( I did not entertain the idea of markers prior to this) ... I like them; and I just might start stamping more!  Well... I'm on day three off of my foot ... I may have to do some online Retail Theraphy ... LOL !!
