While I was away finding "My " new normal Blogger was making changes! Lord help... I'm trying to keep up. Shabby Blogs were my amazing helpers when I first learned ( correction when I thought I had learned ) about setting up a blog. They are gone ; I don't know what happened... OMG; my blog has no guts... what do I do now ??? Okay so if you have not gathered by now I'm frantic, flustered, and OVERWHELMED !! And that is putting it mildly.

Reminds me of a song from back in the day " I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in " haha .

On a serious note it is over whelming but I am determined to work my way through this. Queendom Relics may have a new look soon but we are not gone! If you are reading this ... don't give up on us , we will be back :)

Good lord I'm still in Granny meets Technology 101A for my phone ( it's a year old now); my tablet has only been on twice !!! Gonna make this go right ... keep me in your prayers !

If you'll remember my last post I stated my new normal was not normal yet ... it's still not !! I'm struggling to keep up with this new life; and ALL that it brings. As I near the anniversary of my brother's passing I can only reflect on the faithfulness of my Heavenly Father who has kept me sane. I've experienced some health issues ... happy to say no more falls ! Almost a month ago I lost the feeling in my left hand and have since been through many test to try and determine the cause; I'm grateful stroke , aneurysm and cancer have been ruled out. At this point neurologist believe it's a pinched nerve (darn that thing ... giving me such a scare) !!! As you can see I'm posting ( I'm left-handed )... things have been slow in my crafting... but I'm making progress... only two fingers are still numb ... yay !! So soon I hope to tweak my blog. Oh and my new phone ( almost a year old... is still giving me the blues) has been quite a challenge ... Smart phone they call it... it's not too smart it didn't train me Hahaha !!! BUT I'm still determined to master this. So I hope to have somethings posted soon. So don't give up on me... I'll be back soon !!

Rea'http://www.blogger.com/profile/08773476184984599959noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5263749092342802973.post-81572646272648362042017-07-27T07:40:00.000-07:002017-07-27T07:40:23.698-07:00My New Normal Isn't Normal Yet !Well ... here it is July 27, 2017 ! Things have not gone as I had planned ( not complaining , just an observation). I've come to the conclusion , it is what it is. The Queendom is still in progress. I'm happy to report I got the china cabinet back in the kitchen, the bookshelf moved to it's rightful place in the Queendom and the last shelf assembled. That was a BIG task; long over due since the remodel. It took about a week to recover physically but I am so pleased with myself for getting it done. It's funny I go out and stand in the doorway starring at my mess every morning with a BIG Smile on my face. It is my way of reassuring myself that what I want to happen will come to fruition soon.

I'm still looking for my new normal. I thought June was going to be a very productive month for me; in some ways I guess it was. I did six backgrounds in my art journal in preparation for my Dylusions Challenges ( I tried to play catch up ); my thinking was if I did the challenges I missed that might make me feel better ... hahaha! Okay so July came I started a page for Carte Blanche, made two sets of Hipsters for Tim Holtz HipForSummer Challenge ( Hipsters were finished but I didn't complete the projects I planned for each one); made two Tiny Houses ( Tim Holtz), made two Assermblage wristbands and started a necklace (also Tim Holtz); made an Anniversary card, and two birthday cards; and planned and stamped two Julie Nutting Dolls for a couple of Challenges and started three scrapbook pages. The anniversary card and the birthday cards were the only completed projects. In my spare time in the course of three weeks I attended SEVEN funerals of special people in my life and have taken care of my husband. I think he's on the mend now. Praise God!

I'm happy to report that in spite of not completing my projects that I was not completely disappointed; I came to the conclusion my new normal just isn't normal yet ! My plan is to complete these projects and to keep moving. My new target date for the Queendom is August.

I'm also very happy to report I got my new phone ( have had it almost a month); I'm still in the activation stages ... don't laugh! THIS WAS A BIG STEP for me ... I got a Smart phone. I'm feeling a little like Grannie from the Beverly Hillbillies ... meeting Technology !! Maybe in another week I'll turn the phone on ... hahaha ! I have crossed a few hurdles moving from an antiquated Motorola Karma QA1 to a Samsung Galaxy S7. My Motorola had died and I had no display so transferring contacts has become an "issue". Another gentle reminder that My NEW NORMAL ISN'T NORMAL YET ! See you soon ...
Rea'http://www.blogger.com/profile/08773476184984599959noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5263749092342802973.post-73567949559985526862017-05-29T10:38:00.000-07:002017-05-29T10:38:35.380-07:00ReflectionCan't believe it has been a year since I've posted. My life has definitely changed and had more ups and downs then I expected. I'd like to say my adjustment has been great... but that would be stretching the truth, I'm not adjusting as well as I thought I would by this time... let's just say I'm working on it :)

I've created a few things but have not posted; have tried to keep up with a few challenges; but never making deadlines; my cell phone has died and I haven't decided on a new one (that was my source for posting); and my computer has undergone some operating changes. Truth be told ... I hate changes right now. And to add insult to injury I had a few health issues that sidelined me for a little bit.

So ... this is where I am today... I'm presently cleaning up my crafting area, trying to bring some order back. While I was sidelined the Queendom over spilled into other areas of my house; so now I MUST
return things to their rightful place. I think it's the coolest junk pile ever (meaning it's got all that I could want at my finger tips)... but it has become overwhelming and is interfering with my ability to create ! I'm not sure Mr. Barnes is appreciating my "Creation " ... we now have the Queendom ( my official craft room), Queendom Annex #1 ( formerly known as the living room) and Queendom Annex #2 (formerly known as my bedroom. I am feeling much better and I'm able to be on my feet longer so I'm working to restore some order ASAP. Not an easy task. My husband still says " the scrapbook store, Michael's and Joann's may be calling you for supplies ! " I so love my Tim Holtz stash... What ... I'm Happy :)

Hope to be back on track by end of this week. I look forward to a creative , productive June ! See you soon :)
I'm stopping in to "dust the cobwebs " LOL ! It has been a long time since I have posted. I'm missing my Challenges and my Tim Tags :( . I have quite a few new UFO's in my attempt to keep up BUT life kept me from making deadlines.

As many of you know, for the past three years I along with my wonderful sisters have been caregivers for my brother who was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer three years ago. He out lasted their predictions ... they didn't expect him to live this long. As a family we prayed ; God saw fit to Bless us with three years to make some precious memories ; and that we did. It was a long life changing, challenging battle . Last Wednesday May 25, 2016 God called my brother home. No more blood draws, no more chemo, no more infusions, no more transfusions. While we are saddened by his absence here ... " To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord !" Ross' assignment here was completed.

While I miss my part-time twin , friend and neighbor dearly; I'm grateful for the time God gave us and I celebrate his Graduation !

Thank you to all of you who faithfully prayed with us and for us. We felt your many prayers. May God continue to Bless you richly !

With some luck I hope to be back crafting next month Right now I'm cleaning up my area... it's a little messy ( okay... so a lot messy LOL ) ! My goal is to play catch up with my Tim tags. At the beginning of the year I had decided I would just sit on the sidelines and enjoy all the creativity of the Tim community... BUT having done tags for the last eight years I was feeling a little lost... so see you come June !! Yikes ... tomorrow is June 1st, can you believe it ??

I will also be taking Tim's Creative Chemistry Classes too ... Woo Hoo !!!

Well that's it for now... see you soon !
Congratulations ... as the old folks used to say " You made it over ! "
I don't know about you , but I have not made a lot of New Years Resolutions ... I think I'm still going to work on some from last year LOL. I'm grateful to see another year, I'm excited to see what the New Year will bring. I've created this New Year Tag Using my Ledger Script Stamp, Linen background stamp, Calendar Stamp and Snowflakes from Mini Holidays 2 Stamp Set and Tall Text Stamp Set. ( all Tim Holtz of course).

I used antique linen distress paint with the linen stamp for the base of the background; then used frayed burlap and pumice stone spray distress stain drying with the heat tool between layers to get that cool effect. I stamped the script with black archival ink. The calendar was stamped with cornflower blue archival ink, and the snow flakes were stamped with stormy sky and weathered wood distress ink. I used the snowflake stencil and blueprint sketch for the other snowflakes. I distressed the edges with the distress tool and walnut stain distressing ink. I added foil to the tag for highlights. The blue was a little brighter than I had envisioned but certainly added interest !
I'm praying that you will have a prosperous New Year; in your families, in your crafting adventures; in your personal lives. Whatever your desires are make the best of everyday you have to spend with family and friends; and don't forget your " Me" time!

Invest some time in your spiritual growth; if you haven't met my Best Friend ... get to know Him in a personal way ... He desires a personal relationship with you and He's the Best friend you will ever have... He loves you unconditionally! :)

I have loads of projects now UFO from 2015 that I would love to see finished, this first month in 2016. And of course the Queendom is always a priority. If I left it to my husband I think the living room aka as the Queendom annex would be the first priority ... we shall see.

Whatever you do enjoy yourself... Have a Blessed Day ... Happy 2016 !Rea'http://www.blogger.com/profile/08773476184984599959noreply@blogger.com14tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5263749092342802973.post-14646387259364573192015-12-29T19:20:00.002-08:002015-12-29T19:22:27.357-08:00T'is The Season ... Anything Goes December ChallengeNow you all know I don't like to be left out ... Inspiration Emporium's last Challenge of 2015... Let's do this...
So I made tags , with the intent of using them on a couple of packages... well I forgot I made them and sent the packages on ... duh !!

So I've decided to share them with all of you. I won a prize package from Ranger Inc. earlier this month so I decided to play with the stamps I won. Such a cool prize; Dylusions Stocking Fillers Holiday Stamp Set and Dina Wakley's Scribbly Holiday Birdies both autographed by the ladies themselves; And Holiday Stickles!! Thank you again Ranger :)

Okay ... a little bit about my tags for two of the tags I used Dylusions ink london blue, vibrant turquoise and after midnight ( I was trying out the color combo for another challenge project I love it!
The second tag ( the lighter tag ) was a mop up tag; I mopped up excess ink on my craft sheet... very pretty isn't it ?? Using the snowflake stencil from Dylusions I stamped snowflakes on all three backgrounds ... it's cold outside I'm thinking snow :) .

Tag #1 I used the Christmas tree stamp and the Merry Christmas sentiment from Dylusions.

Tag#2 I used my Tim Holtz Flourish stencil with weathered wood distressing ink and then the Tim Holtz snowflake stencil ; I created snowflakes with the texture paste. I added Let It Snow sentiment from Tim's Handwritten Holiday Stamp Set.

Tag#3 I used Dina Wakley's Scribbly Bird; added the cute little ear muff hat, which I customized with my plaid background stamp ... so fun ! I added the holly and sentiment also from Dina's set. Then I thought I'd try my hand at some snow like Tim showed us at the Carson Stamp Show ... haha
too cute.
After completing the tags to this point I decided they each need a dusting of snow so I used Tim's splatter brush with picket fence distress paint... aaah perfect touch ! I further embellished the tags by adding ribbon and white fiber... burr it feels like winter !!!

Thank you Inspiration Emporium for another fun year of inspiration. Thank you Design Team for all you've done to keep us inspired and motivated. Blessings to each of you in the coming year!
One of my goals for 2015 was to start work in my Dylusions Journal.
I've been participating in other Challenges, doing blog hops , making cards, trying new projects, doing my 12 Tags of 2015 and caring for sick family members; doing a wedding, but I could never seem to get around to my Art Journal . Well December was here... Christmas gone ... it's do or die time... LOL !
I love Dyan Reaverley's work and her stamps and have planned for a couple of years to "try" my hand at it. I've got quite a stash of inks and stamps... working on adding to the collection ... but I had a "light bulb" moment... you gotta use what you bought!!! So here I am ... December Challenge; use blue with snow flakes... I can handle that especially since I won the cute little Holiday Stamp and Stencil set from Ranger ! Woo Hoo
Do you ever get petrified just before starting something new ? I do ... it was like I never handle inks before ...hahaha (I'm A Tim-A-holic) ... anyway the start was very slow...

My background was done with London Blue, Vibrant Turquoise and After Midnight ink sprays. I was so giddy when I saw how it came out ... yay background done now what ... hehehe ... I knew I wanted to use Pondering Petunia and I knew I had snowflake stencils from Stocking Fillers Stamp set my pages sat for almost three days. NOTHING was coming to mind except me pondering... I stamped the snowflakes ... I gotta tell you I was NOT impressed... oh man how difficult can snowflakes be... they were ugly ... smudgy, lacked definition... what did I do wrong... I turned the stencil over and did another set ... well better. Sooooo I left it alone for two more days, then I decided to use the stencil with texture paste ... yay cool snowflakes; decided to use (from my prize package) Stickles I used Wonderland and Frozen ... well I liked them at first ... then NO !! Okay so those other ugly snowflakes needed help, I used my Martha Steward stylus set and created designs on some of the "mushy " snow flakes that bought some life to them ... oh well clock is ticking I need to wrap this snowflake mess up (NOTE to self :Look up instructions for this stencil ... AFTER New Year ) hahaha!! What came to mind as I was doing this was "You gotta believe you can do this, believe in yourself ... this was applying to my project at hand and to my real life situation with my brothers illness " ... So I added BELIEVE to my page ( from Word Love Stamp Set) ... hahaha another story in itself! I added evergreen branches ( from Christmas Accessories) that I stamped with black archival ink and then decided to stamp over them with Mowed Lawn Distressing ink as that was the color I used for Petunia's dress and leggings.... I'm liking the look I added Christmas balls from the Christmas Asscessories Set also. I was beginning to like the look. Okay ... snowflakes NEED some snow ... using my Picket Fence Distress Paint and that cool splatter brush (Tim Holtz) I created snow ... oops ... I got too excited I got a little flurry towards the bottom ... hum not to worry it fit right in. My thought at this point was WALK AWAY FROM THE PAGE NOW... DO NOT DO ANYTHING ELSE... there you have it my first Dylusions page ever !
As I worked on this page I reflected on the "season" my family and I are in with my brother's illness (stage 4 cancer). More so than ever before I'm wanting to make the most of every opportunity that I have; it means pressing beyond my limits, exploring. There's times of knowing what to do, not knowing what to do; wondering if you did the right thing, or enough ... you are angry, frustrated, sad... you have silly moments, lonely moments. I think my page encompasses ALL of that . I'm believing my faith will carry me through whatever lies ahead and that I have a faithful ever loving God (represented by the evergreen) who will be by my side every step of the way; through the ugly, the indifferent and the beautiful ! I'm ready for 2016 ... How about you ?? Happy New Year !
Hope you all had a Blessed Christmas with your families and friends.

Well here we are the last tag of 2015. What an amazing tag journey this has been. Don't know about you but I've been pretty pleased with how I've been stretched this year. Tim is just so amazing and his creativeness is over the top awesome. Some of these tags have been tedious ( with great results); some have been intimidating ... almost quit on two of them! But I'm HAPPY to say I stuck with them all.
The December tag... OMG ... when I looked at it I thought WOW, that is so cool ... OMG ... don't know if I want to do that one ... TEDIOUS X3 came to mind! I've said it on previous tags I'm sure, I'm HAPPY to be finished with it, but I'm amazed that I got it done...LOL! STRESS TEST...

Now that background absolutely LOVE it ... it was so easy and it looks so great; I've got a new love for stencils and burlap ... so elegant looking. That wreath... I'm still scratching my head... WOW... REALLY TIM? I started out with just one of those punches and was going to make due using other dies ( leaves from pinecone die and greenery die) ... BUT looking at the tag again I WANTED WHAT TIM USED hahaha .sooooooo I bought the other two punches !! Once I harnessed my dyslexia ( I'm not really dyslexic but sure seems like it at times... as long as it takes for me to figure out how something is done) the wreath started to take shape. Nails are not always a plus with small pieces... sometimes they work for you other times they work against you. I was almost in tears; then I figured out it wasn't the tag ... just overflow of emotions from caring for my brother.
Back to the tag... how brilliant to work out a dimensional wreath !
My favorite part had to be the splatter... with that new small splatter brush Tim did ... it goes so well... such a cool touch with that picket fence paint !
That's it for 12 Tags of 2015... Thank You Tim for another amazing year. Can't wait to see what 2016 holds for us.
Never happens, there is usually a death or illness that takes me out of commission. This year is no different. I frantically worked on cards between rehearsals, family obligations etc....BUT I didn't want to rush through them... so I guess next year I'll finish them. Does that happen to anyone else ?
I am however going to share one with you. I so love how it came out.

I used a Kraft card base and Pink Paislee Merry & Bright Collection. I so love the colors and prints of this collection. I chose the adorable green with tiny white polka dots paired with a Christmas floral. I cut out a black and white sentiment from one of the papers and cropped it on a black and white print. I used my Tim Holtz Mini Reindeer & 25 set and cut a cute Reindeer from the green polka dot ( way cute ). I added red to the bottom of the card using a cute reindeer washi tape from Recollections. I furthered embellished the card with red bling on the reindeer's nose and a black and white bakers twine tie.
I absolutely love this tag... had to do some minor embracing of imperfection; my pumpkin was not positioned where I wanted it, that foam tape holds very well , I'm not removing it. I am so PLEASED with myself on this tag. Seriously you must do this one each step was amazing.
That background stamp is the bomb... that linen... an amazing look with the antique linen and the frayed burlap and pumice stone color combo. I got excited when I saw it... THEN the foil technique; easy but so classy ( had to marinate at this step) ! OMG ... the blueprint pumpkin; watercolor technique... I'm gettin' better... loving the look... yay I spritzed without issues today !! OH and the emboss ... deboss BLEW me away... BRILLIANT Tim !!! And if that wasn't enough the cork autumn...
I've got to admit the thought of working with those little alphanumeric thinlits "traumatized" me
for a bit ... whew I got it done... another brilliant technique with the removable tape. Pretty cool.
I so love this tag . You really SHOULD do this one; you will enjoy it I'm sure!
Well one more tag this year ... can't wait to see it! Tim teased us with a sneak peek at the Carson Stamp show... OMG ( I'm not telling... ) !!!
See you soon !
WOW ... with the weather still being in the mid eighties and low nineties this past week, it is hard to believe it is fall. And Halloween is this weekend too !!

Aaah ... my October tag... it's been done for a few days, but with technical issues with the new windows 10 and AT&T dropping my various services on my antiquated cell phone... posting has become a major issue. A couple of years ago the service that allowed me to post directly to my blog from my cell phone was dropped . I found an alternate service that worked for a little over nine months and it was discontinued which forced me into bluetoothing to my laptop and transferring to my desktop ( yeah I know ... old school ) ... but it worked. Well thanks to windows 10 and AT&T yet again... my Bluetooth does not work. Dear Santa ... I've been a very good girl, very patient with my technical husband... but I NEED to be able to blog from my cell phone or at least transfer my photos WITHOUT my husband, can you PLEASE SEND ME A NEW PHONE!!

Okay... on the serious side. I've been holding off on a new phone as I could not justify spending the money ( I'm sole supporter of household now and I've retired) on the phone I want. Up until now my Motorola Karma has served me well. Companies sure know how to "force" us into the new products!!

On to the October tag... gotta tell you when I saw the monster, zombie and vampire thinlit , I thought they were cool but not something I would make. I held my breath and kept hoping Tim would not use them for a tag... NO he did !!! Okay I got my zombie... To my surprise they are not as tedious as it looks. Love the choice of colors ... so much personality. Tim really does make it easy ( so glad he did the video ) ... I won't tell you how many times I watched it . I like how Tim laid out the thinlits for the various parts... he took the guessing out of the equation... Thanks Tim !!
The background paper Tim chose from Regions Beyond was so perfect... my zombie looked like he got a hold of some poison. I did not have the paper for the tooth so I used platinum stickles ... worked so well :) Oh and the splatter stencil ... perfect touch ... way cool.

Well here I am sliding in AGAIN ! As you know if you've been following my post, my life has been turned upside down a bit. With my brother's illness (battle with cancer ); we've seen some new "normals " in the past couple of weeks. Just a quick update ... he is doing better, we've been walking twice a day on some days. I'm getting good at the massages ( I massage his legs and feet to help with some of the discomfort. He's finally eating a little more. He completed the aggressive radiation a week ( or two ago ) and started a new Chemo treatment today. We are Thanking and Praising God for every day and continuing to make special memories as we travel this Journey. Thank you all for your prayers and concern.

I'm doing my best to stay active with my crafts, but the wind has been knocked out of my sails with these new normals and this extreme heat. I am however staying inspired... Have you been checking out the Halloween Inspiration on Tim's Blog ??? OMG ... AWESOME !!! I've got lots of notes and product to get started ... that Halloween release is to die for :) !!

I am determined to stay on top with my tags... so here we go ...

Tim keeps blowing me away with these techniques... don't you just love the transparent gloss texture paste?? OMG ... just glides over the stencil ... I'm in love !! Gotta say that was my favorite part with this tag.

The alcohol inks were fun , once I got my mojo going... had to do some embracing of imperfection here ( I'm chalking it up to the stress of the last couple of days), I do love my colors. It's amazing to think that this
It was more beautiful than I could have imagined. It was definitely the most detailed of all weddings that I had coordinated in the past. The Vintage theme was OVER THE TOP !!
The seventeen tables ; each a different theme; each with a story all it's own. Each table was either inspired by; designed by or decorated in memory of someone very special in Robin's Life.
The fun of collecting items and pulling it all together was an amazing adventure in itself; we took many walks down memory lane; and through several thrift shops; specialty shops too, just to find the right items to compliment our décor. Through laughter and tears it all came together.

During the reception guest mingled with each other and also went around to the other tables to get the story behind each table. The families of the person/persons who inspired and/or decorated the table sat at these tables and shared the story about their relative.

We also had a Memorial table where photos were displayed of deceased grandparents and other key people in the bride and grooms life (some photos did not get to us and photos were left in the display that came with the display frame ... made for an interesting conversation piece. There were also special tags and memorabilia that represented each one of these people ( don't think we got photos of final set-up... it was awesome) .

Unfortunately we did not get close-up photos of all the banners I made... but they all came out so nice. I hope to get photos of them when I go back to put things away. Or maybe ... when my camera shows up, there are some on my camera.
It took a moving van to transport all the items for on display so boxing them back up at the end ... other people transported items. In lieu of favors several of the decoration items were gifted to specific guest ( you would not believe the time spent in tagging these special items ... prior to the wedding ); and the assignment of attendants to deliver the items to the guest), it was all so beautifully planned !!

Here is a link www.inlandimpressions.com/robin for photos from the wedding. The photographer; Bret Christenson , did a fantastic job capturing all the different phases of setting up ! Good thing ... with all that was going on I did not get many photos. Special Thank you to Bret for letting me use the link for my blog ... you're the BEST !!

Now you know every wedding has it's own stories ... the wedding was a hour late ( the bride's parents , sister and one of the attendants were all late); there was a fire on the freeway and traffic was backed up. Made for some anxious moments ! There were also many funny moments ( little things that went wrong that nobody really knew about ... but we laughed about for hours after the wedding).

The bride was gorgeous... she designed the dress and it all started with those gorgeous boots ( almost a year before the wedding... that's another story in itself.

The Ceremony ... OMG I wished we had video taped it ... it was so amazing. There was the traditional ceremony, a blended family ceremony, foot washing ceremony and the sand candle ceremony ... yep ... and they all "flowed" beautifully ... I stood through the whole ceremony sand I think I cried through 50% of it ( I felt like the Mother of the Bride) ... my Baby was getting married.
I'm honored to have been asked to coordinate (plan) this wedding ... it was beautiful; and the decorations were more beautiful than I could have imagined. The Story told by each table , the togetherness, and warmth of family , friends, and coworkers of the bride and groom was just amazing! Definitely a day to be remembered for years to come.

Even the on site Wedding coordinator commented she had never seen anything like it ! The staff came in to watch us set-up ( as they saw all the items when they were delivered the day before and wondered what we were going to do with all that stuff) ... it blew them away !!!
Side note : I got two job offers that day ... talk about something to make you proud !

It has been a swirl wind around here ... so I won't complain ... I did it that's what is important to me !

" The Journey Is The Destination " , perfect sentiment for this tag .

I think the August tag was one of the coolest tags ever... don't you ?? That thinlit background was so fun and surprisingly easy ... such a great touch. Then the distress ink technique on top; the hickory smoke, blueprint sketch, evergreen bough, peeled paint and walnut stain combo ... WAY COOL.

Now I was a little heavy handed with the stamping ( I'm embracing the imperfection here ) ... but I loved that too ! This tag just made me giddy. :)

Oh and the splatter ... hahaha... I covered my area this time ( no gold splattered tools and supplies ) ... BUT I wasn't seeing the gold splatter .. humm ... I might have gold freckles or gold highlight in my hair ; oh oh the cats shaking his head ... hahaha ... gotta go back and play with my splatter brush during my leisure; I am determined to get the hang of this. I think I do see some on my tag . And the smudging let's just say it is getting better.

Another fun tag completed ready to be displayed on my clip carousel ( those are so very cool btw).

Okay so you know I was struggling with coming up with a project ... I finally chose to do a tag.

My tag reflects my thoughts about my CC3 Journey and this final Challenge 34 specifically.

My weapons of choice for this challenge were the blossom layering stencil, small talk, photobooth, frames and trims industrial stickers, label letters, flashcards, hashtags stamp set, tiny tattered floral thinlits, wall flower paper stash, hickory smoke, and fossilized amber distressing inks and crinkle ribbon.

I have so enjoyed the CC3 Challenges; this final one was really a challenge... I always try to stay focused on my projects even when all around me is going crazy. This week and these past few days

my life has been turned upside down. I think I shared earlier during the challenges that my brother; who is also my neighbor was stage 4 cancer; so we ( family) have been taking care of him; this week he took some turns; so my time was spent in frequent trips back and forth to the house; and multiple phone contacts etc.; yesterday we ( sisters) had to take him to ER ,yesterday afternoon; he was finally admitted to hospital about 2 A.M. this morning; so I have been operating on 3-4 hours nightyly for over a week now. Not to mention it's been in the low 90's all week. I'm so determined I'd lay down and take a nap and get up at 2 A.M. to craft ( I had other projects going on as well) ... BUT the creativity fairy left me... I think I was finally relieved that my brother agreed to go to the hospital to be checked so that kind of freed up my mind. This is not an easy journey but our faith and family togetherness is carrying us... thank you for all your care and concerns. Have a Blessed night ... see you tomorrow :)

Well .. time for # 33 ; I'm laughing it took 33 times to get to a day before deadline and be able to say I completed my project and I'm not in the eleventh hour. I actually completed it yesterday but was too tired to post.

Not unlike any of the other challenges... there were challenges within the challenge... I knew in my mind what I wanted to do a cute somewhat vintage canvas and I played with it for quite sometime...

Had to use my NEW Distress color Blueprint sketch. Could not imagine what my alpha parts were going to look like blueprint sketch! That was the first issue ... secondly I wanted crackle paint on my canvas so I went with old paper ( using stuff from my stash I hadn't used for a while)... oh no I don't recall it having that "green" of a look ... too late it's on there now ... humm interesting color combo going on ... not to worry let's make the ribbon blueprint sketch too ... OH NO ... NOT what I was going for... Vintage with a twist LOL !!

Now to "pull " this together ... I remembered Correspondence paper stash had a pretty blue print, MAYBE I can find one to HELP... if all else fails distress the edges in blueprint sketch ... how 'bout some blueprint stenciled stars... blueprint sketch adornment bird ( I'm determined to make this work ) LOL ! Did you notice the green dance ticket is almost same color as crackle paint and it's "pulling" the green in the floral bouquet from Emporium ephemera ... ok ... work it ... girlfriend !!

I kept playing and managed to pull it together... not what I had in mind but close... nonetheless fun. When I finished I thought it needed a touch of color to the ribbon bow so I added buttons to "repeat " the colors in the found relatives and the red in the ephemera. THEN ... I came up with the bright idea to spritz blueprint sketch ( I know ... leave it alone... too late! ) ... I'm done ... Hehehe...

Seriously hope you enjoyed my piece ... it really was fun ... still amazed at old paper crackle paint... hummm ... maybe because it's old?! Maybe mislabeled ?? This is the color I was going for http://www.scrapbooking-warehouse.com/215130.html#.Vbqgps_bL4Y

For my tag I was twisted, abandoned and fossilized, and layered with burlap, doilies and wildflowers !!! LOL ... translation ... I used twisted citron, abandoned coral and fossilized amber distressing inks on my background and I used burlap, doily and wildflower layering stencils.
I used the distress marker spritzer with black soot and back stitching to add interest. Check out the crazy rick rack ribbon from Tim's natural, black /cream trimmings ... goes just fine with my whimsical frosted film flowers don't you think ?! As you can see it was all about fun !

Other Tim Holtz product used tattered florals die , mini butterfly die, spring greenery decorative strip die ; hashtags stamp set, watercolor stamp set and clear stamps phrases 2 . Embellishments included a muse token and ribbon, and flower brads and min safety pin from my stash.

I'm feeling a little looney and silly after intense work on wedding decorations/plans hope you enjoyed your visit ! Don't forget to visit the Curiosity Crews blogs and show them some love... remember they can't hear you ooos and aahs... I got my tag done ! With wedding preparations in full swing; and being sick a couple of days ... I just didn't know if I was going to get it done before I left town again. The wedding is this Friday ... OMG it is here !!!

July tag not unlike the others was chalked full of fun techniques.

I love the colors Red, white and blue... what fun use of the distress markers ( nice to reacquaint myself with them). The new glaze is amazing ... smells good too. I did have to embrace some imperfection as my nails caused me to go a little wild with the use of the glaze ... I got carried away... following Tim's instruction ( a little goes a long ways ). I went too far around my painted items so I lost some color space. Not to worry I like the look !
The tearing was a little tedious with those small borders ... guess I need smaller fingers hahaha . The ribbon was totally awesome to do. The stitching just added so much to the tag ... just awesome!
Thank you Tim for another amazing tag.
A month ago in a discussion with some friends... they could not believe I did not do the January tag ... so I promise to do it and post it on my blog .
So here it is girls...
I actually feel "whole" again ... it just didn't feel right not having my January Tag... Tim2 and no January Tag... I could not live that down :)
Now this tag was intimidating ( maybe that's why I had no drive to get it done) all those little stickers. YAY ... I did it !

I really love the technique for the background it was so amazing... love working with that tissue paper; and the paint put on with fingers so awesome. I think this had to be one of the messiest tags for me ... I had glossy accent everywhere ( maybe because I was rushing). my gold leaf pen would not work for the spritzer technique ... I'll have to revisit that technique ... I've got it down for the markers but the gold leaf pen was not co-operating :)
Alright girls hope you enjoy it and hope you will join me for the rest of the tags.

I got my June Tag done ! This tag was sooooooo much fun to do. Not unlike any other Tim Holtz tag it was chalked with so many fun details. I so love the plaid ... the DIY ink pad was so cool to make.. but the stripe stencil to make plaid ... genius !!. I tell you that Tim comes up with the coolest ideas! It was hard not to get excited over each step, as I could see the tag taking shape.
I've got to admit the straw kinda stumped me ... but I got it... not too much embracing of imperfections on this one. Eat your heart out Starbucks :)
Yay ... I'm early ... no last minute for me this time... very busy working on a wedding so I need to do my CC3 Challenge now ( don't want to be left out). Well here we are at CC3 Challenge # 31.
Linda Ledbetter over at Studio L3 http://lindaledbetter.com/2015/06/compendium-of-curiosities-3-challenge-31.html ; our amazing hostess has laid out guidelines for you to follow if you would like to participate. We are continuing to explore Tim Holtz's A Compendium of Curiosities Volume III. to participate you must have your own copy of the book because we cannot give instructions on the techniques ... you can't either ! Now you should check http://lindaledbetter.com/compendium-of-curiosities-3-challenge-faq so that you can familiarize yourself ( or refresh your memory) regarding the guidelines for the challenge ... I don't want you to be left out of the fun! And this will help you answer any questions you may have. We have two amazing sponsors and our sponsor this challenge is Inspiration Emporium http://www.inspirationemporium.com/. It's an awesome online store owned and operated by the delightful Joy Kennedy and her family.
To be eligible for prizes ( and they are cool prizes) you'll need to follow ALL the guidelines and visit the blogs of the amazing Curiosity Crew and show them some love. It's real easy ; you just click on their projects and it will take you to their blog. It's okay to OOOOOO and AAAH ( but they can't hear you) so you'll need to leave them a comment ... LOL !! Be prepared to spend some time at each one (grab a cup of coffee; put your feet up ) ; BE PREPARED to be WOWED !

Oh yeah ... if you still don't have the book ( Shame on you ) ; seriously if you don't have it go visit my friend Tim Holtz at http://timholtz.com/ he'd be happy to autograph a copy for you !

Challenge # 31 is Layering Stencil Paint Resist , found on page 47.
It's so difficult at times not to tell you what I did because I get so jazzed about the techniques. I don't know about you ( if you've traveled this journey with us); we've just done so many techniques that I didn't even imagine I would do ... so I tend to get excited about them. I will tell you that at first glance this looked intimidating. Once I got started I was presently surprised at how easy it is. I'm in love with this one !

Since it's close to the 4th of July I decided to go with patriotic colors. I used fired brick, faded jeans, and pumice stone distressing inks. For my embellishments I used photobooth, special delivery remnant rubs, seasonal chitchat, hashtag stamp set, index label, crinkle ribbon, custom fasteners, trinket pin, heart charm , Wendy Vecchi's red geranium embossing powder and four stencils : Hearts, stars, numbered and rays. From my Queendom stash I used lace, denim, embroidery floss and fibers.

I followed the instructions on page and created a tag ... OMG... this is so cool. Can you see the four stencils I used ? Look close ... how cool is that ?! I almost hated to cover it up !

Well hope you enjoyed my tag. I'm off to do my June Tag for 12 Tags of 2015 ! I've got to get my crafting out of the way as I will be working on Weddings decorations for the weekend and preparing for a Memorial Service... I've been asked to speak for Baby Levi's Memorial Service. Family has chosen to "Celebrate " Baby Levi at our Family 4th Celebration. And then I'll be off again to finalize preparations for July 17th Wedding . Fun, fun , fun !! See you soon

Have a safe and enjoyable 4th of July !

OMG ... this is so fun... hahaha Linda said you'd be saving every bottle ... well I think you'll be searching out every kind of bottle or jar to play with. I did three different items !!!

I've been super busy these past weeks planning and making decorations for a friends wedding; keeping up ( or trying to keep up with) my women's Bible Study Group and just do life . I was stumped for an idea of what to do ( even after all the inspiration from the Crew) ... as I was studying an idea came ... I wanted to do something unique. We are studying Proverbs ... Proverbs 9:10 came to mind " The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom , And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding. " My light bulb moment ... I had this cute light bulb and knowledge token ... when I think of wisdom I think of my grandmother; she used to say "pearls of wisdom" ! So my project was born ... a light bulb with pearls !

Following the directions on page 54 I "prepared" the light bulb. I used lake mist alcohol ink to colorize my light bulb ... okay I'm so giddy at this point ... love the look. I dropped five ( five is the number of Grace) pearls from Ideaology baubles in to the light bulb. Then I colorized Tim's ribbon with fossilized amber distress stain tipped with vintage photo distress ink. I further embellished my light bulb with clear baubles, a tear drop pearl and knowledge muse token which I attached to a ribbon and lace bow with a wire pin.

Hope you enjoyed my light bulb LOL ! Don't forget to visit the Curiosity Crews blogs and show them some love. I may or may not be back before deadline ... we shall see :)
It's not to late for you to join our Journey; however you will need to consult the "tour guide" aka the guidelines on Linda's blog. The guidelines are simple , pretty easy to follow ( except for those of us who get a little excited and want to tell it all ). We have wonderful sponsors and our sponsor for this leg of our Journey is Inspiration Emporium http://www.inspirationemporium.com/ ; the family owned online store; owned and operated by the beautiful Joy Kennedy and her family. Want to join us but not sure where to start ? Check out the Curiosity Crew's projects; visit their blogs... be prepared to be wowed ... it's okay to ooooo and aaah ... they like those; so show them some love. If you do you can also have a chance to win some goodies sent by Tim Holtz and Mario Rossi. So get YOUR book ... let's get BUSY !! Oh... you STILL don't have one ... go get it ...http://timholtz.com/new-distress-hickory-smoke/ ... while you are there check out Tim's latest post ... the New Distress color was revealed today; oh and don't forget to ask for a signed copy of A Compendium of Curiosities Volume III .
Challenge #29 is Eroded Metallic found on page 44.
I've created a tag ... I'm in the embracing mode this week ... hehehe ! Should I tell you what happened??? Nah ... let's just say I managed to save the tag. I followed the instructions for the technique , I had to do it a couple of times before I was satisfied with the results. It is a pretty cool technique once you get the hang of it ( just so you know... the technique WAS NOT my reason for "embracing")... as the kids say it took me a minute :)

My weapons of choice for this challenge were my Time Travelers and Purveyor Stamp Sets. In keeping with the eroded theme I stamped my traveler with sepia archival ink. I used another one of Tim's techniques from a previous year of tags ... so fun !

Well that's it for now. Oh just want to thank the Curiosity Crew once again for choosing me for the winner of Challenge # 28 , I'm excited , jazzed and honored ! And thank you to all of you (in case I missed anybody) of my CC3 community who left me comments.
" Eleventh Hour Susie " here ... LOL ... that's my name today ! I'm actually starting this post while I wait for the tag to dry. Well not unlike the past couple of months this one has been busy. With passing of two more family members; Baby Levi and Roy Lee it's been quite busy. I was feeling a little overwhelmed this past week ( out of sorts ... probably closer description) so I took some time to do busy body clean up of my work area; hoping for the creative fairy to stop by. She DID NOT COME ... can you believe it ?!
Anyway ... I'm closer to normal today then I have been for the last two weeks.
I was very excited about getting to this tag ... but dreading it too ... those tiny flowers looked so intimidating !! To my surprise they were very easy... love that little tool that comes with the Tiny Tattered Florals die ... OMG ... GREAT DIE TIM !! I actually remember watching Tim demo these at CHA in January and I remember thinking those are great but I don't think I'd want to wrestle with those tiny flowers ... hahaha ... no wrestle here... tiny flowers in one try !!!

This tag had so many fun details ; PhotoBooth strips , way too much fun to colorize and then use remnant runs. It is amazing how such small details add so much to a project.
I tell you
Tim just WOWS me with the elements he brings to each tag every month. Burlap background, texture paste stenciling, stitching and spritzing too ... fun, fun, fun !
I have to say I'm embracing the spritzing ; as I was not getting any spritzing and then POOF ... NO NOT ON MY PHOTO AND RIBBON !!! What can I say ... I even tested first ... oh well EMBRACING IT IS ( as Tim says embrace your imperfections. ). I'm very pleased to have finished my tag.

Okay, that's it for now... I've gotta go finish up so I can drop the photos in and make deadline... see you shortly !! Hi ... "SHE"S BACK ! "

I finished my tag ... hope you enjoy it ... Thanks for visiting, see you again soon !
