12 Tags of 2015 April Tag

Hi everybody ! Boy is it hot here ... it is 84 degrees at  6:15 P.M. . How's your weather ?
Well it's that time... I'm not early but I'm getting it done :)

OMG... I gotta say this tag is A-M-A-Z-I-N-G  ( yes I know I say it all the time) ... seriously Tim WOWS us every time with the simplest of techniques and details that make a world of difference to a project. I believe he's gonna make an artist out of me yet.
Even being in the eleventh hour I could not settle for just one tag; I had to make both. So here are my tags.

Okay on the yellow flower tag ... I could not get my second marker in the spritzer fast enough so I decided to spritz a little more water ... OH NO ... I messed up my beautiful background. Well maybe not ... with a little embracing I've got another amazing look !

I thought my black  soot was  drying up ... I wasn't getting the speckles then all of a sudden poof... there they were... not another mishap !! I know the drill ... embrace my imperfections ... actually it's pretty cool.

I had to take another photo at this point ... I looked at my work and I was blown away ... seriously ... I got emotional... those little details ... WOW ... amazing ... I DID THIS ... Thanks Tim ! :)

Well , I hope you enjoyed making your tags /project as well as I enjoyed mine . Imperfections and all
I so enjoyed these tags. Those thinlits are so fun and the way they are used ... just genius ... I dreaded that part because I thought it would be tedious... not at all ( even though I lost the dot for the I's a few times under my nails ... hahaha ) . And the black stitching ... fabulous touch... like Tim says " It's all in the details " ! Well that's it for now ... see you next time :)

Okay so ... Challenge #26 is  Smudge Stamping found on page 42 ... see it !

I had no idea until this morning what stamps I was going to use or what I would do with them. I'd been working on a  three year old UFO twenty page album. ( unfinished object) ... YES... I said three year old... all week and was determined to finish it first ...  AND I DID !!

So here is my project ... a tag

You must know it is so difficult not to tell you what all I did because I'm so pleased with myself ( Tim's techniques do that to you) ... but I can't give you details. I WILL tell you I had fun. I used FOUR of my Tim stamps ( I love that I'm using my Tim stash regularly as I do these challenges ).
I used Bird Feather, Classic #1 , Classic #4 and Typography. For interest I used various colors of Distress Ink; Shabby Shutters, Mowed Lawn Vintage Photo and Mustard Seed. I embellished my tag by adding ribbon, tissue tape, remnant rubs and word band .  My ribbon was colorized with a combination of mowed lawn and mustard seed ( also used the color combo for the
word band. I added colorful jute string... see how well it goes with that mowed lawn and mustard seed pear ? !  I also added some vintage photo and shabby  shutter spritzes using my distress marker spritzer ... so fun !

Okay let's get to work ... Challenge # 25 Frameworks found on page 64 !

Oh my goodness , what a fun variety of frameworks Tim has. I own two but I think I want more !!

So fun ... I chose to use my Trellis Framework. I created a colorful Spring Tag. As I've mentioned in the past participating in these challenges gives me the opportunity to use my Tim toys. I so enjoy this.
I pulled out so many toys I have not used for a while.   I used  trellis framework, mini bunny and bow , tapered fringe,  tattered floral  and spring greenery dies.

The  frosted film flowers  were colorized with picked raspberry . It was fun heating them and shaping them. I colorized the ribbon using distress stain ( same colors as seen in the background) .

The mini rabbit was embossed with vintage photo distress glitter and I positioned him between two layers of the tapered fringe that I distressed with vintage photo distress ink  and  curled the ends using  my small stylus. I used small pop dots to add dimension.

In this photo above you can see the spring greenery that I entwined around the trellis after using a small stylus to give dimension to the leaves; which were also distressed with vintage photo and crushed olive distress ink.

For my background I used a technique we used for Tim's March Tag; using  symphony tissue tape and cracked pistachio, abandoned coral, broken china, and picked raspberry distress paints. Love those bright colors !
I cut my trellis and tapered fringe from the fabulous shattered kraft-core ... oh such awesome choice for this. To embellish my tag I cut small flowers from frosted film and modeling film (Wendy Vecchi Art Parts). I embossed the mini rabbit with vintage photo distress glitter. I cut eggs from a "mop up" tag ... a trick I learned from Dyan Reeverly!  I had way too much fun ...
I also added a small sign created using scraps from the mop-up tag  and a stamp from my stash... Hoppy Spring !

So I do hope you are joining us... don't forget to review the rules and guidelines, visit the Curiosity Crew blogs and show them some love . See you on Saturday ... for the new Challenge ! :)
