I'm glad we don't have to pick winners from this group; it is fun to  check out their work and  show them some love. They have got some pretty cool blogs too !
Alright you ready ? Challenge #7  is found in Tim Holtz's  A Compendium of Curiosities Volume III
p. 46 Painted Industrial !

I won't give you any detailed instructions but I will tell you the technique is so very cool!
OMG... fun, fun ,fun !  I had company for this Challenge ... I chose to use my Julie Nutting Doll Stamp "Priscilla" . One of my missions in doing the challenges is to use my "stash" and my tools that I have so nicely accumulated . Miss Priscilla was one of my UFO's (unfinished objects) ... she fit in so well with this challenge don't you think ? Steampunk anyone ?

I had gotten this cool textured paper from Michael's that I wanted to try for her outfit ; then I decided I needed to do something interesting for her stockings; so I used my Tim Burlap Stencil, a mini blending tool and  distressing ink ( I believe I used salty ocean ... it was on my table... this was a spur of the moment decision ) . I added small floral brads to her boots and her hat ...
Now I needed to pull this together so I visited the Queendom stash and found a small photo from Graphic 45's Steampunk Debutante, added some Tim Holtz  embellishments, a little black netting and braid trim sand we "hooked" Priscilla up... she's good to go !
Thanks for visiting I do hope to see you again! I am still working on the  Bluetooth issue... I seem to have found a temporary solution ( after spending 45 mins with a tech guy at ATT & T.

Bottomline... my phone is "old"  their updates did not support  my system ! Translation : gonna have to invest in another phone that will accommodate my desires ... hummm ...
Last time the temporary fix lasted  a little under an hour... gotta go bluetooth some other stuff before it stops again ... see you next week. :)

12 Tags of 2014 July Tag

Hi everybody ! Are you melted ? It has been so very hot ... the water is running off of my face. It is 92 right now. It has been hot at night too ... last night at midnight it was still 82  !!!
Well it's tag time ... I'm late this month ... still having computer and telephone issues ... so I'm hoping for the best.
I think Tim out did himself on this tag! That sea and sand die is so awesome and the bubble embossing folder is way cute. I don't know which technique was my favorite; the crackle paint on the sea horse and the touch of gold and black   paint spritzed on it was just amazing. I loved watching it unfold before my eyes; the colors were just amazing. The spritzer is fun...

Confession time... my  "selective" dyslexia kicked in on the embossing folder ( guess I have to start using mine more often so I'll remember how to place them in the folder ) you would think I could figure out something so simple. Thank God for Tim's tutorials ( yes, I went back to consult it ... it was frustrating not being able to figure it out... even looking at Tim's I was still unsure).
Another reason I "love" Tim so much ... the resources are readily available to brush up on anything you may have forgotten... Thank you Tim ! I felt so stupid I did not want to e-mail him for that question ... but he does answer his e- mails. I'm embracing my imperfections in that area!

My goodness the colors for this tag so yummy; and the background was fun to do ... do you ever just look at the techniques and take in the awesomeness of the distress paint, distress inks and the distress stains ( it's so easy to get catch up in the process and miss their awesomeness ... maybe it's just me, but as I did this tag I really reflected on what I was doing and my expectations... gave me such a cool feeling of accomplishment! I was thinking beach and waves the whole time I was working ( it was 90 at my house late into the evening ).

Okay ... making the sand was a pretty cool technique... I liked it but did not like it ( maybe the lateness of the hour was messing with me) I was frustrated I had sand everywhere ... might be because I had the fans going ... duh !! It does look so cool. The sand dollar is too cool ... looks so real
, and the starfish... just awesome!

CC3 Challenge #6

CC3 Challenge #6 has been completed and ready to post for 24 hours now! I waited until today to post because I had a busy schedule and need to make some posting time ... so here I am ( and have been for the last two hours ) sitting trying to trouble shoot my cellphone and lap top . As you will recall I had to revert to the Bluetooth method as my "service" ( or lack there of) for my cell phone dropped where I could automatically send things to my blog. I had found an alternate service as no one could figure out the "Why?" ... this service too was dropped with no apparent warning a couple of months ago ... sooooooooooo I have been bluetoothing . Surprise, surprise ... you guessed it ... my blue tooth is NOT working. So here I sit ... attempting to trouble shoot.  My guess is I will be changing to a much dreaded new phone ... with new service ( I can hardly contain the excitement... rolling my eyes the whole nine yards). YES ... my phone is antiquated ... I love my Motorola Karma QA1... I know you're going WHAT... they STILL have service to those ??? Okay ... stop laughing!
On a more serious note ... it may be that the battery (even though it had a charge) was not enough to Bluetooth... it is old ... I'm charging the phone as I post ... hoping it will work in time to make the dead line ... something like FIVE HOURS to GO...
Okay... now that you've had your laugh for the day ... on to the  business at hand...

FOUR HOURS FIFTY SIX MINUTES to go ... am I going to make it ??? (insert photo here... LOL )
A little positive thinking... be back with photo soon ... fingers and toes crossed ...
At 1 hour 41 mins to go we have a photo ... YAY ( my Bluetooth went wacky again... but I'm going with what I got )!

I can tell you with each challenge I'm loving more and more that I'm pulling out more of my Tim stash to use. I used distress paints; broken china, picked raspberries, evergreen bough and mustard seed,  distress markers; mustard seed , worn lipstick, broken china and wild honey ... such yummy colors ; distress  glitter... oh so fun !  I seriously played in my idea-ology stash; I used a stencil mark ( number 7 ), word band, decorative corners, framed alpha parts ( number 7 ), ring fastener. chit chat stickers,  wallpaper paper, Melange tissue wrap,  and that fabulous linen ribbon ... just way too much fun !!  The other misc. items were from the Queendom stash: feathers, flowers, green leaves and of course bling !

Happy 4th of July Independence Day !

I hope you are all enjoying your Celebrations and that you remembered to also Celebrate those who made this Day possible.
I was low key today... finished my CC3 Challenge #5 ... AND I decided to do some of my Julie's Girls . I've missed doing them and getting them posted so I decided to share some with you
for the 4th.
I could not make a final decision on the ribbon for my girls so my tags are minus the ribbon ( sorry).
I used the Peasant Dress Doll #5 from Julie's first collect and Taylor  from her second collection.
I had so much fun . The papers and embellishments I used  are from Pebbles Americana Collection.

For the first doll with the peasant dress ( Doll #5 )  I used a tag from Julie Nutting 's tag pad  that had note paper background and I used my Tim Holt star stencil and stenciled stars with  barn door and faded jeans distressing ink.  For her dress I used Pebbles  Justice from their American Collection.  I stamped the dress twice once on the floral  side and the second time on the gingham side  of the paper. I layered her dress so that the gingham showed at the neckline, hemline and at the sleeves.
I stamped her shoes and her head band from the floral side. I used two of Pebbles Sticker Collections to add embellishments; banner across the top and flowers and sentiment at the bottom.;  and I used Want 2 Scrap red adhesive pearls for her earrings.
I apologize for the lousy photo I did not realize  until I started the post that you could not see the sticker I added because of the glare. The sticker has a sentiment that says Proud To Be American.

The second doll is Taylor ( she's one of the newer dolls ); for her background I used a tag with a blue and white  flourish looking background. Taylor's outfit is done from the same paper
using the gingham for her pants, and her headband; she too is wearing red pearl earrings from Want 2 Scrap ( sound like a fashion show commentator ... lol ) ! For the embellishments on this tag I used the wagon sticker, a firecracker sticker and some red white and blue stars. I also used my flower punch to punch flowers from both the floral and gingham side of the paper and I used the red pearls as flower centers. Added a little bling to the fired crackers and used vintage photo distressing ink the distress the flower petals and Taylor's outfit.

My third doll is wearing a peasant dress from the gingham paper, gingham head band, gingham shoes and red pearl earrings. She's mounted on a tag with a script background which I stenciled with  faded jeans and barn door distressing ink stars. I added a small white doily and a couple of stickers and a white ribbon at he neckline of her dress. I also added punched flowers.
I just love those flowers with those red pearl centers... so fun !

I am so enjoying my Julie Doll Stamps ! I hope to do more in the coming weeks. Just so many possibilities for these girls. I currently have 14 of Julie's Dolls... so I do want to use my investment :)
See you in a week or so. I'll be doing my July Tim Tag... so you'll have to come back and check it out... it's going to be awesome. I'll also be sharing some of my other projects from the other challenges. See you real soon ! Oh and I will add ribbon to these tags ... they'll be gingham and other red and blue combo's ( something cute) !

Talk about some awesome incentives to participate !!  OMG their work is fabulous... they jump start each challenge with these awesome projects ... you need to check them all out in order to be eligible for Tim and Mario stash ... but it's so easy... just check them out and show em' some love!
Okay ...   Challenge  #5 is  Distress WaterColoring Part I  found on page  39 of  A Compendium of Curiosities Volume III . Did you get your copy ? I sure hope so. You know the drill I will not be giving instructions !!!

I had so much fun with this until I started putting the components together ... I got interrupted so many time that I lost my creative train of thought . Bummer !

Anyway once I regrouped I was sort of able to recapture my original ideas. I used several of my Tim Holtz toys and I just had myself a ball. I used my rosette die... I had to go back and revisit the video to remember the new way of doing them... OMG so much simpler. I used two of my stencils; the stars and the stripes; I used some embossing powder and that cool word play die ; I played with some embossing paste and even used my spritzer ... I just had a great time !
Hope you'll be able to see some of the details.

I'm very pleased with how my watercoloring pieces came out . It is so rewarding to try a technique and see it unfold right before your eyes. I've done something I never imaged I would do ; thanks to Tim !
Well that's it for now... see you later ! Be safe !!
