Grungy Monday Challenge 39

Grungy Monday Challenge 39
Linda over at  www.studioL3.com says this is the last Grungy Monday Challenge for a while so I had to try this one, who knows I might be the lucky winner of a shopping spree with their sponsors at www.SimonSaysStamp.com, they got some of Tim's new stuff ! Go check them out.
Okay back to my project....
This weeks challenge was using Tim Holtz's alcohol ink plaid technique from 2009 12Tags of Christmas. (http://timholtz.typepad.com/my_weblog/2009/12/12-tags-of-christmas-3.html.). I remember doing this one, but had to try several times to get it right, well this time it only took one try, I GOT IT !  I chose pool, sunset orange, sunshine yellow, willow, cloudy blue and shell pink alcohol inks for my project. Since it's close to spring I thought this would make a pretty palette.  I stamped it with my fabulous flourish and sentiment from stuff to say (Tim stuff you know...), and a bird stamp from my stash. I used wild honey and vintage photo distressing ink around the edges. In honor of craft month I dug out some of my old supplies, I found this textured impressions from sizzix, decided to emboss a piece of coredinations, love the result decided to play with it, sanded it
and lightly distressed with bundled sage distressing ink. Then I got the bright idea to fussy cut... actually turned into fussy tear, is there such a term? Oh well I liked the look (it's playtime, what can I say). I spritzed it with biscotti perfect pearls mist... interesting. Next I colorized some paper flowers from my Michael's dollar bin finds, with wild honey distressing ink and added some diamond stickles ooh pretty. Okay it need ribbon, not just any ribbon, I colorized  the ribbon with crushed olive distressing ink , gave it nice color to compliment the yellowish green in the plaid I added some twigs of burlap and some tiny yellow bling! That was fun ...back to work now !
